Manufacturing a Stronger and Greener EuropeDr Paul Frigne, Pneurop President, made a speech during the European Forum for Reciprocating Compressors at the International Rotating Equipment Conference in Düsseldorf on 27 September 2012. He thanked the VDMA for organising the meeting.
The next generation will need an economy which is greener and more competitive. Dr Frigne said that Pneurop is fully aware of the important role it has to play in this challenge; in the context of ecodesign, Pneurop has launched its Green Challenge initiative.
The Green Challenge shows that society needs compressed air and vacuum as a process enabler. Dr Frigne underlined that technology is the key to improving energy efficiency at the level of the bare compressor, the compressor package and the complete compressor installation.
Dr Frigne also mentioned the Ecodesign Lot 31 Compressors preparatory study which started in March 2012 and in which Pneurop is the main stakeholder.
Sustainability projects and low carbon initiates need compressed air, gas and vacuum equipment
Increasing concern about the environment and the need to foster energy efficiency are addressed by the European Climate Change Programme and its subsequent legislative measures. Pneurop supports the overall sustainable energy policy objectives of the European Union within the sphere of its responsibilities. Its members companies actively promote energy efficiency for the benefit of their customers as part of their daily business activity.
